My passion for reading began at a very young age. Family trips required an entire storage section for my sister’s and my book collections. As I grew older, spelling mistakes, poor grammar as well as misplaced punctuation made me want to stop reading a book or maybe contact the publisher. Pursuing my MBA provided new materials to review and critique.
As I began my career, I focused on policies, documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures, further honing my craft for identifying embarrassing errors prior to publishing my own work or for other team members. During a short hospitalization for a medical issue, I was deeply disturbed to be staring at a poster, for hours on end, that was missing a comma. Knowing this was in all the hospital rooms, I asked the staff if I could borrow a Sharpie so I could travel from room to room and add it!
Fairly quickly, I developed a reputation as the go-to person to review anything critical prior to distribution to the company or a critical update to the Executive Teams.
With this, I decided to branch out and pursue Proofreading professionally. With my certificate in proofreading, my journey is well underway and I look forward to helping my customers put their best product forward.
